I'm just sat here listing hand made jewellery made by my vety talented partner and listening to a random playlist I made, and 'drive' by the cars comes on, I usually listen to this on my headphones, but there's something about playing it on the stereo or on the pc 'out loud' that is different, I was instantly reminded of a time my mum had been sectioned, I could tell my dad was holding in a lot of sadness, we had been told a few times now she would never be in hospital again with her schizophrenia (we didn't know at the time that is what it was) and he truely believed the doctors and consultants, but we were starting to think maybe they were wrong. Anyhow, there we are in our stupid white Peugeot my dad had bought off a work mate, it was a rubbish car, and that's another story, I had made dad a mix tape and on comes that song 'who's gonna drive you home... Tonight' I seen my dad's eyes well up, so I said in the most comical voice I could 'me dad, he's driving me home!' and the smile he gave me was priceless, just typing that makes my eyes sting with tears, as I can't begin to imagine what he was feeling, it was my mum that was ill but this was his wife who he loved to pieces, a truely nice gentle sweet woman who wasn't herself, but making him smile was brilliant, we drove home and talked about happy times, looking at the bright side and laughing about life Is therapeutic, I highly recommend it, all too often in this day and age (I am writing this in 2020 during a global epidemic, for those of you reading this in the future, remember that one? I dread to think what else will happen in the future and hope there's an end to this rona!) people are getting offended by so many silly things, you font like it, scroll on and ignore, life is too short and precious, I thought this pandemic would make people come together (not in a rude way lol) and unite, but it seems to of made people weird, and brought out the worst in them , but there has been some awesome acts of kindness too, the whole message to get from this blog, was not to forget lovely memories no matter how small, you never know when the last time you'll see soneone so cherish them, don't be getting all offended, it's silly and life is way too short
